Scholarships & Grants

Calling all high school seniors! CAPA offers two $1,000 scholarships to applicants who are pursuing education beyond high school. Applicants must make sure they live within CAPA’s boundaries and have attended a Joliet area high school for at least three years. Applications are made available in late Spring of each year.

Requirements:

– Must live within the CAPA boundaries and household is a current CAPA member.
– Must have attended a Joliet area high school for at least 3 years.

Supporting documents:

– High school transcript
– Letter of Acceptance for higher education
– Essay, in approximately 1,000 words, describing your most meaningful achievements
and how they will relate to your future goals.

In August 2019, the CAPA Board along with Mayor O’Dekirk presented $1,000 scholarships to two Cathedral Area students last night to help them further their education. Nate Schultz and John Ragusa were selected for their outstanding work, exemplary community service, and their alignment with CAPA’s mission.

In August 2018, the CAPA Board presented $1,000 scholarship awards to two neighborhood students as they pursue a higher education. The checks were presented to Ava Wendel and Alexis Samuels by the CAPA board, Mayor O’Dekirk, Councilman Mudron and CAPA’s Scholarship & Grants Director, Andrew Chemers.
